Visit to Zambia by direct descendants of Livingstone and Stanley
The Livingstone Arts, Cultural & Sporting Events Development Organisation and The David Livingstone Bicentenary & Livingstone 2013 Initiative are pleased to announce that the forthcoming visit of the Livingstone and Stanley descendants to Zambia is progressing well. This visit has been organised to mark the bicentenary of the birth of Dr David Livingstone and we believe it is the first time that descendants of Livingstone and Stanley have met on African soil since 1871. Due to a variety of circumstances the visit has been rescheduled to March next year.

Members of the Livingstone 2013 committee had the honour of being presented to Her Royal Highness, The Princess Royal, at a Reception held in Livingstone by The British High Commissioner to Zambia on Friday 28 September to celebrate the Diamond Jubilee of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
